FIU Employer Survey of Program Educational Objectives

This survey requests information on your experiences with employees that are B.S.E. graduates from the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering of Florida International University. We welcome your candid and thoughtful responses on the academic preparation of our graduates. These results will be used to assess the effectiveness of the undergraduate programs offered by the school and to optimize these programs. All information will be held in strict confidence. "The Mechanical Engineering program will graduate students who are prepared for professional practice in entry-level engineering positions or to enroll in further engineering degree programs."
 
FIU ME graduates have a sufficient background in mathematics.
FIU ME graduates have a sufficient background in natural sciences.
FIU ME graduates have a sufficient exposure to courses from the humanities and social sciences.
FIU ME graduates have a strong background in engineering fundamentals.
FIU ME graduates are able to design and conduct experiments, as well as analyze and interpret experimental results.
FIU ME graduates are proficient at identifying and solving engineering problems.
In general, the academic preparation of FIU ME graduates meets or exceeds expectations.
