Global construction giant Obrascon Huarte Lain (OHL) has signed an agreement with FIU for the university’s first international internship program, to be based at the company’s headquarters in Madrid.

The Miami-Dade County Executive Internship Program offers juniors and seniors in our colleges and universities the opportunity to meet the County’s leadership and get a first-hand look at County government.

A team of students from FIU’s OHL School of Construction won the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) 12th annual Student Chapter Construction Management Competition during the 2012 ABC EdCon and Expo in San Antonio, Texas.

The Discovery Lab, created last fall, is aimed at developing products for the marketplace. At the same time, the laboratory provides students with the hands-on experiences they need to solve real-world challenges, develops student-led research opportunities, fosters students’ entrepreneurial skills, and trains a new generation of IT professionals who reflect the diversity of South Florida.
