Accelerated BS/MS Admission Requirements:
Undergraduate students seeking a combined BS/MS degree in the College must satisfy all university admission requirements as well as the specific program requirements. Each department evaluates candidates for admission to its programs. The minimum requirements for admission into the combined Bachelor of Science / Master of Science programs are:
- Current enrollment in the Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer Science at FIU.
- Completed Graduate Application and fee ($30). Apply Now
- Completion of at least 60 credits towards the baccalaureate degree in Computer Science, with a Grade Point Average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Three (3) letters of recommendation from professors.
- GRE general test score of 1000 (verbal and quantitative combined), with a minimum quantitative score of 600.

Admission into the combined BS/MS program does not automatically qualify the students for admission into an MS degree program, which would require full completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
Immunization Policy
As a prerequisite to registration, Florida International University requires all students born after December 31, 1956 to present documented proof of immunity to measles (Rubeola) and German measles (Rubella).
International Students
In addition to meeting all the admission requirements as established by the University as well as by the Academic program, international students must obtain a student visa in order to be able to attend classes in the United States. International students who take the program online and will not be residing in the United States are not required to obtain a student visa.

Due to time needed to process applications for admission, please submit your application and supporting documents (i.e. transcripts, evaluations of university coursework, tests, etc.) by the Priority Consideration deadline dates.

Florida Residents
To claim in-state tuition, you must provide copies of two of the following documents showing Florida residency for at least the last 12 months prior to the beginning of the semester:
- Florida voter registration information
- Florida driver’s license or state ID
- Florida vehicle registration information
You may also submit one of the documents above, accompanied by copies of at least two of the following documents:
- Lease, rental or mortgage contract
- Letter from utility company (Electric, telephone, cable, etc.)
- Employment letter with current W-2 or W-4
- Bank letter (indicating activity in account for 12 consecutive months)
- Professional License
- Current Florida Public School contract
- In-state tuition receipt from another Florida State School (last 12 months)
- Active Duty military orders
- Warranty Deed
- Declaration of Domicile
Non-Degree seeking students
A student is allowed to take classes as a non-degree seeking student while in the process of gaining acceptance into the graduate program they wish to pursue. The maximum amount of credits that may be later applied to the program is 12 (4 classes).
