Creating your Legacy through an Endowment
Endowed gifts provide a steady income stream
to stimulate new ideas, provide seed funding
for innovative projects, improve program quality,
recruit and retain outstanding faculty and attract
talented graduate and undergraduate students.
By creating an endowment
and investing in the College’s future,
donors can make a difference that will last
beyond their lifetimes. For the
donor, endowing a faculty position, academic
program or student scholarship provides a concrete,
permanent link to the continued academic and
research excellence of the College.
Endowed gifts will enable the College to sustain
and enhance our leadership roles in cutting edge
interdisciplinary research, graduate training,
and undergraduate teaching.
By making an endowed gift to support faculty
development, donors increase the resources available
for the Dean to recruit and retain
the best and brightest. Endowed gift commitments
may be paid over a multi-year period.
Eminent Scholars Chair

An endowed Eminent Scholars Chair is one of
the most prestigious honors available at
the university-
both to the donors who create it and the
pre-eminent researcher/educator recruited
for that position.
Only the most outstanding scholars, who are
nationally and internationally recognized
as leaders in
their academic discipline are considered
for the Eminent Scholars Chair.
The presence of such renowned scholars helps
to attract other prominent faculty members
to our programs leading to innovative research,
public service and academic programs of the
highest
quality.
A gift of $3 million will endow an Eminent
Scholars Chair and will be matched 100% by
the State of
Florida Matching Gifts Program.
Endowed Chairs

The exceptional scholars that are named as
Distinguished Chairs bring critical acclaim
to the College.
Distinguished Chairs help the College recruit
the most outstanding candidates to join
the College faculty. These outstanding professors
serve as
mentors for our younger faculty members,
and engage in cutting edge research while
inspiring
a new generation of students to reach for
academic excellence.
A gift of $2 million will endow a named
Chair and will be matched 100% by the State
of
Florida Matching Gifts Program.
Distinguished Professorships

An endowed Distinguished Professorship
helps to attract faculty members with
notable records
of achievements in research and teaching.
A Distinguished Professorship enables
the College
to also recognize
and reward outstanding senior faculty
who are reaching the pinnacles of their careers
and
are in great demand at other institution
A gift of $1 million will endow a named
Chair and will be matched 75% by the
State of Florida
Matching Gifts Program.
Named Professorships

By endowing a professorship, one can
name a faculty position in honor of
a family
member, colleague,
mentor or friend. Named or Endowed
Professorships ensure that scholarly and research
excellence
will flourish in the teachers and students
of the future. A gift of $600,000 will endow a named Professorship
and will be matched 70% by the State of Florida
Matching Gifts Program
Graduate Fellowships

To reach beyond the current level of
excellence, fellowship support must be
significantly increased
for our best graduate students. Not only does
their work prepare them to become the next
generation of professionals in every
field, it also directly
contributes to the furthering the academic
and research mission of the College.
Endowed Fellowships
also attract the next generation of outstanding
graduate students and postdoctoral fellows,
whose work comes to define the frontiers
of knowledge
and the beginning of exploration. A gift of $250,000 will endow a named Professorship
and will be matched 50% by the State of Florida
Matching Gifts Program.
Undergraduate Scholarships and Student Support
Funds

Undergraduate Scholarships and Student Support
funds are the lifeblood of educational dreams.
Today’s students are our future leaders.
By establishing an endowed Scholarship or named
Student Support Fund, you create opportunities
for students who would otherwise not be able
to afford an FIU education. Endowing an undergraduate
Scholarship or Student Support Fund also provides
recognition to a family member or distinguished
colleague.
When companies and/or industry associations endow
a Scholarship or Student Support fund, they help
to attract the best and the brightest students
to pursue a career in their respective industries
or professional fields of endeavor
A gift of $50,000 will endow a named Scholarship
Fund. A gift of $100,000 will be matched 50%
by the State of Florida Matching Gifts Program.
A gift of $25,000 will establish a Named Student
Support Fund.
Planned Giving

gift planning has emerged as a vital means of
advancing the vast educational mission of the
College of Engineering and Computing . Planned
or deferred gifts allow the College to prepare
confidently for the future and can provide you
or your loved ones with lifetime income and significant
tax benefits. These planned gifts allow you to
make a significant commitment to ensure the future
academic excellence .
