This
accelerated combined degree program provides
academically talented students an
opportunity to complete a bachelor’s
and a master’s degree in a shorter
period of time. The BS/MS degree allows you
to 'double-count' graduate courses toward
both degrees, thus reducing the time it would
normally take to graduate by a semester or
more. The combined-degree program reduces
the cost of both degrees and enhances your
marketability for career advancement. By
enrolling in a combined bachelor's and master's
program you can earn your master's degree
earlier while participating in research and
taking courses not usually available to undergraduates.
With this accelerated program, students may obtain
a combined Bachelor / Master of Science
degree in Industrial Engineering. The bachelor's
program
is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation
Commission (EAC) of ABET. The Master's program
allows specialization in any of three areas: Human
Factors/Ergonomics, Integrated Manufacturing, and
Operations Research/Systems Engineering.
Admission Requirements
Students who have completed a minimum of 90 hours
towards their BS degree in Industrial Engineering
and have earned at least a 3.3 GPA on both
overall and upper division courses may, upon
recommendation from the faculty, apply for
admission in the combined BS/MS program.
Financial
aid and Scholarships
FIU and the College of Engineering and Computing
offer a variety of financial aid opportunities
and scholarships to qualified students. The amounts
and eligibility requirements of these awards vary
depending on the type of award. Merit-based financial
assistance is highly competitive, hence, students
are encouraged to apply early. For additional information
on financial aid, please click

Degree
Requirements
The BS/MS Program has been designed to be a
continuous program. Student must meet the degree
requirements for both the BS and the MS programs
of their choice. Students enrolled in the program
may count up to 6 hours of graduate courses
as elective credits for both the BS and the
MS degree. Students will receive a BS degree
and a MS degree on the same date, after requirements
for both are completed. For additional information,
